The delegation of DUGLAS ALLIANCE LTD. participated in the international conference AFRICA 2019: Water storage and hydropower development for Africa that took place in the city of Windhoek, capital of Namibia, from 2 to 4 of April 2019. This conference dedicated to the topic of water resources was organized by the international journal Hydropower & Dams in cooperation with the International Commission on Large Dams (ICOLD).
The event featured the main hydropower facilities of Africa under construction or rehabilitation. More than 500 participants from 52 countries, including 22 delegations from Africa (Kenya, South Africa, Cameroon, Nigeria, Angola etc.), Europe (France, Germany, Czech Republic, Switzerland, Austria, Great Britain, Ukraine etc.) and the representatives of the countries of Asia, South and North America and Australasia shared their experience of carrying out construction of hydropower facilities on the African continent. The experts of DUGLAS ALLIANCE LTD. delivered their speech during the session 5 “Challenging sites” with the report “The Sendje HPP in Equatorial Guinea: Special challenges of the construction”. Within the report, the specialists of our company shared with the audience the history of Sendje HPP project, its main characteristics, parameters and implementation phases of the project. As well they discussed the difficulties that the company had come across during the construction of Sendje HPP.
During the breaks and at the exhibition, the international experts and the representatives of DUGLAS ALLIANCE LTD. discussed challenging projects in the area of hydropower and water storage industries and options of cooperation in the collaborative development of the power-generating industry of Africa.
